Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

When thinking about Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics it makes me think of how important this career cluster is to our economy. In what way do you think the cluster contributes to/effects our nation's economy? Please describe your two careers in this cluster first. How do you think each of your two careers in this cluster contribute to/effect our nation's economy? How does this cluster contribute to/effect the other clusters you have completed research in? My first career was a ship pilot. A ship pilot is someone who drives things such as cargo ships. That helps our economy by delivering goods to our country so we have a higher supply of stuff like food and electronics. If we have a higher supply we have a lower demand which will make prices lower. This is the concept of supply and demand that runs our economy so cargo ship pilots have a high impact on our economy. My second career was an aerospace engineering and operations technician. They operate, install, calibrate, and maintain integrated computer/comm systems, consoles, simulators, and other data acquisition, test, and measurement instruments and, equipment, which are used to launch, track, position, and evaluate air and space vehicles. The people in this career ensure that we can go into space and the sky to learn more about our universe, or travel to other countries. They can also ensure that immigrants can come to our country. The allowance of our president being able to travel safely to a country to talk to the other world leaders is important. He can not do it without aerospace engineering and operations technicians.

Government and Public Administration

Recently I have been asking my students to make connections between their personal lives/chosen careers and those careers they choose to research in class. I ask them to to think about how semi-random research can be tied to meaning for them, personally. This week, among other things, we have researched two careers in the Government and Public Administration cluster. I would like to know why students chose to research the careers they did and how they "connect" to their own chosen career. I chose a coroner and chief executive. A chief executive and a lawyer have many similarities. They both need integrity and stress tolerance. Both need interests in enterprising. Both may need on-the-job training. Both need PDAs, laptops, and management software. A lawyer is similar to a coroner in the fact that both work with police. A lawyer will use information form a coroner such as DNA to set a case, and use it as evidence. Both use Email and search software. They also both need to no psychology, oral comp, written comp, and speech clarity.

Ag Cluster

After researching careers in the Ag, Food, and Natural Resources cluster, you should be making connections between those careers and your day to day life. How does each of the two careers you learned about relate to your life? How does each of those careers relate to our community? How do they relate to, fit in to, or affect our nation in general? I choose florist and vet for my careers. The vet relates to my life in the way that I take care of my animals. It fits into our community in the way that a lot of people own animals, and those animals can get hurt and sick. Most of our nation eats meat which, and most people will want those animals that give us meat to be healthy. In the way that a florist relates to my life is that I love flowers, and their meanings. In our community with florists they provide guys who mess up in their relationships a way to get their girlfriend, or wife to forgive them. They also provide flowers for families who had loved ones who died. It fits with our nation in the same way as our community. Men mainly use it as a, "Forgive me I messed up",gift. People also need florists for suggestions for what to use for certain celebrations.

Business, Management, and Administration

Why did we type up a venn-diagram on our chosen career and a career from business, management, and administration? I think you had us compare our chosen career and a career from this cluster to show us that there are many similarities between jobs no matter how different they may seem. It shows us that some careers are more like others than we think they are.

Students have just finished researching the Architecture and Construction career cluster. I'm curious to know how the two careers they looked at are similar and how they are different. I'm also interested to know if either of those two careers relate in any way to their chosen career. It should be interesting to read their posts! I had Highway Maintenance Worker and Paperhangers. The projected growths for both are low, yet paperhangers' projected growth is -2% to 2%. A highway maintenance worker has a higher annual median pay. They use different tools and technology, but the same work values.
Now that you have completed some research on your chosen career (, how does it measure up to a career in Human Services? Please make a note of the two careers by name and write about what they have in common. Use your fact sheets to compare the two. After comparing the two careers, decide and write about what those similarities mean to you. Could you work in Human Services? Does it confirm your chosen career and academy or does it make you want to change it? I still would prefer the career I chose. A lawyer and A fashion designer are nothing alike. They both have to pay close attention though. It's can be similar in the characteristics, yet it is also completely different in what you do during the job.

Why is it important for you to understand personalities in the work place? Think of both, knowing your own personality, as well as knowing how to recognize other peoples' personalities It's important for me to understand personalities in the work place that way I can get a better understanding about those I work with. Knowing my own personality I have to be moving, and I can't be confined for to long. If I realize about others' personalities will help me know how to get the truth, and how they work. That way I will be able to make better judgments.Even though I am an orange I am still able to work with other personalities. In that case, it will be a better and more efficient work place.

True Colors is an apptitude survey that helps people see why they act the way they do. I will most likely be orange. I believe this because I get distracted fairly often.
